RWE Americas is a leading design-build consulting firm specializing in engineering, construction management, commissioning, and forensic engineering for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and renewable energy systems. We provide expertise in infrastructure planning, utility optimization, energy cost reduction, and demand response solutions.  RWE Americas has a growing project pipeline and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of energy-efficiency, distributed-energy, and design-build projects. Responsibilities include managing investment-grade audits, infrastructure construction, MEP implementation contracts, conceptual engineering design, forensic engineering evaluations, and system/building commissioning. This senior member will also oversee client relationships, strategic partnerships, subcontractors, and provide cross-functional support for in-house development, engineering, and construction teams.  

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and manage project support services including but not limited to project design, budgeting, and scheduling; pre-qualification, selection and management of contractors, subcontractors, and equipment vendors; development and structuring project-related contracts; maintaining close contact with the customer; and production of customer deliverables.
  • Manage phases of construction and performance contracts including maintain or enhance customer satisfaction; collaborate with engineering, development and project management teams in conducting design optimization and value engineering of energy projects; conduct constructability reviews; perform cost estimating and purchasing functions; manage field-related project planning, scheduling and quality control; coordinate field construction project management; direct construction contract administration and risk management activities; and manage budgets, schedules, invoicing and other contract requirements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction/project management, or related degree required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing and implementing a range of energy and MEP design build related projects, including MEP construction and lighting projects.
  • Previous budget/schedule/performance/quality responsibility.
  • Specific experience with building energy systems and controls including commissioning of HVAC, Central Utilities and Electrical Systems.
  • Experience in the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up/turnover, and subsequent O&M of energy projects.
  • Prior HVAC, Electrical or EMCS design experience is a plus.

  • Expertise in codes, permitting, and union issues
  • Sound and proven construction management and project management skills
  • Strong contract administration and construction risk management skills
  • Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to represent the company
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, MS Project, and Word. Experience with ProCore is a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Up to 30% travel may be required

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position is $138,000 - $175,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
