ROLE OVERVIEW CalPortland is moving off SAP HCM and onto Dayforce HCM, targeting a January 2027 go-live, and needs a Senior IT HCM Business Systems Analyst to own the Dayforce rollout on the business side. The client currently lacks in-house Dayforce expertise and is mid-implementation with an SI partner, so this person will set up and support the HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams and become the internal go-to Dayforce expert.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the IT-HCM subject matter expert, collaborating with stakeholders to define and document business needs
- Configure, administer, and optimize Dayforce across Core HR, WFM, Payroll, and Benefits modules
- Guide the implementation partner through go-live, validating approach and best practices
- Communicate major release updates and their impact to HR, Benefits, and Payroll teams
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform audits/validations to ensure data integrity
- Develop and execute test plans and audit processes; secure business sign-off
- Partner with developers on integrations to third-party vendors and enterprise systems
- Create and maintain documentation (process flows, configuration guides, test scripts)
- Support compliance, JSOX audit requirements, and year-end payroll processing
REQUIREMENTS / MUST-HAVES
- Implementation-level expertise across Dayforce Core HR, WFM, Payroll, and Benefits modules
- Experience as a BSA on the IT side of HR, Benefits, and Payroll, including multiple system integrations
- Understanding of how backend HR/employee data interacts with third-party providers and external applications
- Ability to translate business requirements into system configuration and vice versa
- Familiarity with union environments and California labor law (meal/rest breaks, split shifts, overtime, final pay) preferred
- Strong knowledge of benefits/payroll integration with Finance (GL posting) and third-party providers (tax, garnishments, benefits)
- SAP exposure is a plus, since the business must keep the existing SAP ERP running through the transition
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Computer Science, HR, Business Administration, or related field; SAP/SuccessFactors or PMP certification a plus
