Requisition: Senior Software Engineer – Fixed Income Portfolio Construction

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer (6-10 years experience) to join our Front Office technology team supporting Fixed Income Portfolio Construction applications. The candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting business-critical applications used by Portfolio Managers and Investment teams for portfolio construction, rebalancing, analytics, and investment decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise applications supporting Fixed Income portfolio construction and investment workflows.
  • Design, optimize, and support complex database solutions, data models, and SQL queries.
  • Build and enhance Java-based services, APIs, and backend components.
  • Partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support application stability and performance.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, and release activities.
  • Contribute to application modernization, cloud adoption, and technical debt reduction initiatives.

Required Skills

  • 6-10 years of software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle/SQL databases, including:Data modeling, Query tuning and optimization, Stored procedures and performance troubleshooting
  • Intermediate proficiency in Java development.
  • Experience with Spring Framework and REST APIs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction skills.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Fixed Income, Portfolio Management, Trading, or Asset Management domains.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven, CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 6-10 years of relevant industry experience.

Success Profile

The ideal candidate is a strong database engineer with sound Java development skills, eager to learn the Fixed Income domain and work directly with business stakeholders in a fast-paced Front Office environment supporting strategic portfolio construction platforms.
