Full description
Purpose: Manage and lead the engineering team who is responsible for the definition, implementation and improvements of the manufacturing process to produce advanced and critical parts, to meet and exceed customer expectations. Strategize and implement technology roadmap to stay competitive. Ensure the optimization of engineering resources to increase effectiveness. The engineering team is the owner of quality, technology and cost of the parts produced by the factory. He/she will expect to lead the team for continuous improvement.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
- Drives the engineering team on the execution and planning for new products (NPI), and related processes towards robust volume production.
- Oversees process engineering efforts on cost savings opportunities, improvements and change management for mature products and processes.
- Oversee the conceptual analysis of new capital projects while implementing engineering standards and best practices in project design.
- Explore, implement and optimize new processes and manufacturing methods to support business requirements together with the production team.
- Define and enhance engineering methods and processes to enhance productivity, quality and technology within the organization.
- Assess team's capability and performance gaps and identify learning needs. Develop and own competence and knowledge development plans for the team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Precision, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, precision manufacturing, or related manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a mandatory requirement; candidate should possess or will be required to attain this certification for this role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of automation, Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, or smart factory initiatives will be an advantage.
- Ability to develop engineering talent and build high-performing teams.
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
