Overview

Partner with business operations to provide financial insight through actionable business analytics, business planning, and fact-based recommendations that will assist the company to achieve its strategic goals and priorities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating, reviewing, consolidating, and completing the planning process, including long-range plans, annual operating budgets, forecasts, and risks and opportunities for business partners.
  • Perform actual results variance analysis vs. budget/forecast.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and make recommendations as needed to support management in making sound business decisions.
  • Work with business partners to establish Standard Costs for budgeting and management of P&Ls.
  • Analysis and post-audit tracking of strategic initiatives, including development of supporting models and expected outcomes.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of management financial and operational dashboards.
  • Identify areas for margin expansion, including the performance of fixed/variable contribution margin analysis, and utilization of equipment, labor, etc.
  • Prepare for and participate in financial reviews with location and area level management and assist them in interpreting financial results.
  • Work directly with business systems managers in maintaining and improving processes within operational systems.
  • Collaborate with the finance team as well as cross-functionally with various business units.
  • Optimize process procedures and documentation (continuity and best practices).
  • Interpret, analyze, and question financial data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High moral and ethical standards.
  • Able to collaborate with other team members and senior executives.
  • Effectively communicate financial information and understand the activities of non-financial functions.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles and practices, and financial forecasting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience using business models, budget comparisons, and forecasting.
  • Ability to create and give effective presentations.
  • Highly organized and able to work well under pressure.

Education and Certificates

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or an equivalent field.
  • 3-5 years previous accounting or finance experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work, occasionally requiring moving up to 10 pounds.
  • Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
  • Inside, climate-controlled working conditions.
  • May require longer hours occasionally during high deliverable periods.
