Full description

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to own and evolve our portfolio of reporting solutions, Airflow-orchestrated data pipelines, and algorithmic data products. You'll partner with stakeholders across quality, supply chain, and software teams to translate operations problems into automated, self-service analytics that directly impact quality and efficiency.

Key job responsibilities - Data architecture design — determine the right data foundations necessary to solve team-wide business problems - Team development — operate as a team-wide resource for BI best practices and cross-team productivity improvements - Dashboard Development & Maintenance — Design, build, and maintain QuickSight dashboards across domains - Data Pipeline Engineering — Build and optimize Airflow DAGs that refresh dashboards on intraday schedules (up to 4x/day), ensuring data freshness and reliability for operational decision-making - Algorithm & Data Product Development — Develop and maintain data products such as ranking algorithms (LSXT UTR), labor allocation optimization, and dynamic headcount targeting models that feed directly into operational tools - Metric Onboarding — Onboard and maintain metrics in platforms like Perfect Mile for SSD buildings - Data Quality & Monitoring — Own pipeline health monitoring, alerting, and incident response for Sev 3 production dashboards - Stakeholder Partnership — Work directly with LPE program teams to translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions, supporting programs like Ambassador Scorecard, Associate Training Violations, and Roles Management - Integration Across Data Sources — Join and transform data from KNET, Formulate, QE (Qualification Engine), Umbrella, Qualtrics, and LATIS into unified analytical views

About the team R2L is a consolidated organization within Amazon that was established in 2023 and is comprised of multiple high growth operational businesses, including Sub Same Day - Fulfillment Centers (SSD-FC), Sub Same Day - Distribution Centers (SSD-DC), and corporate and technical support branches. R2L owns the end-to-end customer fulfillment aspects of these businesses, including supply chain planning, distribution, central programs, delivery, technology, and central operations. The goal of R2L is to improve speed and customer experience, making it one of the most prominent growth engines for Amazon, with SSD-FC and RSR poised to grow by over 2X in the next 3 years. R2L currently operates in North America (US).

R2L Analytics team is responsible for providing Data Infrastructure and supporting Reporting & Analytics for R2L organization.

Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of professional or military experience - 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience - 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience - 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience - 5+ years of using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), or Oracle experience - Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets - Experience with AWS technologies - Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs - Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in statistics, data science, or an equivalent quantitative field

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
