This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Android Engineer based in Brazil.

As a Senior Android Engineer, you will build and evolve mobile applications that support meaningful healthcare journeys and help make essential services more accessible. You will own features across the full development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, release, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Working closely with product, design, backend, and platform engineering teams, you will turn complex requirements into reliable, polished mobile experiences. You will help shape scalable Android architecture, contribute to important technical decisions, and promote clean, reusable, and resilient code. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership through code reviews, architecture discussions, debugging, and performance optimization. You will join a fast-paced and collaborative environment where engineers are encouraged to make thoughtful, data-informed product and technology decisions. This is a fully remote opportunity offering the chance to have a direct impact on products used to improve access to more affordable healthcare.

Accountabilities

  • Build new Android features from the ground up, collaborating closely with product, design, backend, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Design and implement clean, reusable, maintainable, and resilient mobile solutions aligned with established architectural principles.
  • Contribute to the evolution and scalability of the mobile application architecture, helping evaluate and make sound technical decisions.
  • Maintain and improve existing code by identifying and resolving bugs, technical issues, and opportunities for refactoring.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify areas where reliability, responsiveness, or efficiency can be improved.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback, while taking opportunities to lead reviews and promote engineering best practices.
  • Translate complex product and project requirements into clear technical implementation plans and actionable engineering solutions.
  • Integrate REST APIs, third-party SDKs, and external services while ensuring reliable communication between mobile applications and supporting systems.
  • Contribute to analytics, deep-linking, experimentation, and A/B testing capabilities that support product optimization and data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate across teams to balance technical considerations, product objectives, user needs, and delivery timelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional native mobile application development experience, with substantial hands-on experience building Android applications.
  • Strong command of the Android framework, including Activities, Fragments, Intents, Flags, lifecycle management, and other core platform concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Core Java, together with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Experience with Android development tooling, particularly Android Studio.
  • Familiarity with Android application architecture and design patterns, including MVVM.
  • Experience implementing deep linking, analytics, and A/B testing within mobile applications.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts, including networking, security, storage management, multithreading, and application lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to debug complex issues and perform application performance tuning and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience consuming and integrating REST APIs and working with third-party SDKs and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand complex requirements, identify technical implications, and translate them into detailed and practical implementation plans.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and analytical mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced remote environment.
