Primary Accountabilities

  • Build, enhance, and support automated test scripts in Java using tools and frameworks including Cucumber BDD, Selenium, Playwright, and RestAssured.
  • Work closely with software engineering and QA colleagues to understand functionality and assemble a resilient, end-to-end automation suite.
  • Connect automated tests to CI/CD workflows, including Jenkins, so testing and deployment can run continuously.
  • Plan and perform performance, load, and stress tests to validate the stability and scalability of applications.
  • Contribute to peer code reviews and recommend improvements that maintain high standards in test code.
  • Interpret test outcomes, produce clear reports, and enhance coverage, traceability, and overall testing efficiency.
  • Monitor new testing tools, techniques, and practices, applying relevant developments to improve the test lifecycle.
  • Prepare test cases directly and use test management platforms such as TestOps and JIRA.

Skills and Expertise

  • A minimum of seven years of professional experience in automated testing.
  • Advanced Java capability together with practical knowledge of frameworks such as Serenity BDD, Cucumber, and Gatling.
  • Practical experience with source control, continuous integration and delivery, and build tooling, including Git, Jenkins, and Gradle.
  • A proven background in validating REST APIs and web-based services.
  • Experience working with message-queue technologies such as MQ and event-streaming platforms such as Kafka.
  • Working knowledge of database validation, SQL querying, relational database systems, and Big Data environments.
  • Understanding of behavior-driven and test-driven development, supported by tools such as Cucumber or JBehave.
  • Previous delivery experience within Agile and Scrum teams.
  • Strong capabilities in analysis, issue resolution, and professional communication.
  • The flexibility to collaborate effectively in a high-tempo, team-based setting.
