Position Overview
A leading financial institution in downtown Toronto is seeking a highly adaptable, proactive Business Systems Analyst to step into an active project team with immediate impact. In this "Swiss Army Knife" role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders, data engineers, AI specialists, and software developers. You will drive the development of an internal project repository designed to consolidate enterprise project data for advanced progress reporting, risk analysis, and AI-enabled automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicitation & Technical Delivery: Facilitate workshops to elicit, analyze, and translate complex financial business needs into functional specifications, technical user stories, process flows, BRDs, and data models for AI and development teams.
- Development Partnering: Act as the daily subject matter expert for technical teams; triage development questions, clarify rules, and resolve scope queries to maintain rapid build velocity.
- UAT Leadership & Quality Assurance: Design, coordinate, and execute end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Define test strategy, build acceptance criteria, facilitate stakeholder walkthroughs, and manage defect resolution through delivery.
- Risk & Regulatory Compliance: Document complex business decision logic, data governance rules, and reporting workflows to support AI use cases and automated Regulatory Program Management Office (RPMO) compliance reporting (e.g., OSFI guidelines, operational risk controls).
- Dashboards & Visual Analytics: Define detailed specifications for operational dashboards—including KPIs, metric logic, risk indicators, calculations, security/access filters, and drill-down analytics.
- Traceability & Governance: Manage change control processes and maintain strict end-to-end requirement traceability from regulatory standards through technical architecture and production testing.
Requirements
Requirements & Experience
- Banking & Financial Sector Experience: Minimum 5+ years as a Business Systems Analyst within banking, financial services, or capital markets environments.
- Risk Management & Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of financial risk analysis frameworks, PMO governance, and regulatory reporting standards (OSFI, AML/KYC concepts, or internal GRC frameworks).
- AI & Data Solutions: Demonstrated experience specifying functional requirements for data consolidation projects, machine learning models, natural language processing (NLP), or predictive risk algorithms.
- Reporting & Analytics Tooling: Hands-on proficiency defining reporting specs and data structures within enterprise platforms such as RSA Archer, Jira/Confluence, and Tableau (or Power BI).
- Technical Agility: Solid SQL skills to query database repositories, validate consolidated project data, and audit pipeline outputs.
