Job Description:
A Journeyman Systems Analyst executes the implementation and oversight of complex computer systems for an organization with the goal of increasing efficiency. A Journeyman Systems Analyst assists in the design, code, and test new software applications. The Journeyman System Analyst also assists the documenting and analyzing these systems, reporting the progress, and routing any issues appropriately. Troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support are also important duties of this role.
- Implements loading multiple data types into a database environment (i.e., flat, XML, data exports)
- Coordinates with team members to complete tasks and for resources related to system integration, validation of testing, and implementation.
- Proficient in multiple system/application development life cycles such as System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to create data extracts and exports.
- Ensures the successful completion of projects, tasks, and initiatives by embracing a team-first approach.
- Works in collaboration with team and offers feedback, where appropriate, to complete individual and group efforts.
- Shows the ability to adjust and be flexible to change by adapting approach when necessary.
- Demonstrates appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects.
- Always maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Interact with vendors (technical issues, project initiatives) independently, as authorized/necessary.
- Ability to act as the point person for issue escalation.
- Able to create training content. Facilitate more detailed user training sessions.
- Ability to train peers.
- Complete detail-oriented documentation for new and moderately complex processes.
- Extract and document customer/business requirements and needs for use by enterprise architecture and engineering teams (network, system, and software).
- Ability to independently recognize opportunities for process improvements.
- Load, investigate manipulation of data and reconciliation of data
Experience Requirements:
A System Integrator is responsible for developing and maintaining system integrations and components, including but not limited to; application to application integrations, services, internal and external API, file transfer, and EDI and SQL queries. Responsible for participating in requirements analysis and decomposition, design, development, internal testing, and the documentation of same for the application-application integrations. Primary responsibilities also include troubleshooting existing integrations and providing technical support to the application development team. Develop and maintain services used in application integrations. Design integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices. Work with development teams to architect, design, build, and implement application integrations. Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components. Write code to retrieve appropriate data as derived from requirements. Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis. Support development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison, and developing solutions. Coordinate directly with business users and business analyst to best understand and analyze business specifications. Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science, software development, information technology, system analysis or related technical degree. An A.A/A.S. degree with two years of additional relevant experience can be substituted for the B.A./B.S. degree./OR/four additional years of relevant work experience.
- 7 years of relevant work experience with modern technology and application support through education or practical experience.
- Active DoD TS/SCI
- Highly driven and self-motivated to exceed expectations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrates understanding of information technology fundamental tools and concepts (SDLC) of one of the information technology professional disciplines and applies that understanding to make independent practical contributions to IT work within a department or function.
- One or more years of experience with SQL, Oracle, and relational databases is highly preferred
- Experience with Database Scripting
