Accountabilities
- Define and drive the technical vision and architecture for an AI-powered clinical intelligence platform, balancing innovation with clinical safety, reliability, explainability, and scalability.
- Partner closely with clinical, product, design, and AI stakeholders to shape the roadmap for clinician-supervised decision support and medication recommendation capabilities.
- Lead the development of AI-powered clinical workflows that combine patient data, evidence-based protocols, deterministic safety rules, and clinician oversight into trusted production systems.
- Hire, mentor, manage, and develop a high-performing team of AI, backend, and full-stack engineers, fostering strong technical ownership and continuous growth.
- Own the architecture, development, deployment, and operation of services, infrastructure, and evaluation frameworks supporting clinical decision-support and medication recommendation engines.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, testing strategies, observability practices, and validation processes that promote clinical correctness, reliability, and regulatory readiness.
- Participate directly in technical architecture, code reviews, and complex engineering decisions while providing strategic direction to the team.
- Build a culture centered on quality, accountability, continuous improvement, and thoughtful engineering practices in a highly consequential healthcare environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in an engineering people-management role.
- Proven experience leading complex software products from 0 to 1, preferably within healthcare, enterprise SaaS, or another regulated and highly reliable industry.
- Strong ability to communicate technical strategy to executive stakeholders while remaining comfortable engaging deeply in architecture discussions and code reviews.
- Experience developing backend systems using modern cloud infrastructure such as AWS or GCP, relational databases including PostgreSQL or MySQL, and messaging technologies such as SQS or Kafka.
- Professional experience with Go and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development tools, with demonstrated experience building, deploying, or evaluating AI-powered systems in production.
- Ability to balance rapid AI innovation with reliability, safety, explainability, testing, and operational excellence.
- Strong people leadership, mentoring, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Comfortable operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment while maintaining a high bar for technical and product quality.
