Role Summary

This role provides data domain-aligned support for a given business area, ensuring the quality and accuracy of data, and serves as a thought partner and point of contact to resolve operational and service issues. This role is responsible for managing all static and dynamic data types within the organization, including creating databases, processing data attributes, and monitoring client account details. It also involves maintaining asset price information, setting up securities, managing contracts and vendor relationships, and handling control and audit tasks to centralize and streamline data collection and distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a deep knowledge of data sets for a given industry, data storage systems, and the operational processes being supported. Maintains awareness of changing business needs to create appropriate project solutions. Serves as a thought partner to resolve operational and service issues.
  • Provides oversight of operational activities and reviews data flows across systems for accuracy and completeness. Performs root cause analyses of complex data errors. Identifies opportunities to eliminate future occurrences and recommends short and long-term solutions for issues.
  • Focuses on improving Data Management's service offer and communicates with stakeholders and management to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate. Recommends changes that will enhance workflows and procedures. Integrates new or existing technologies into workflows and communicates to all team members. Analyses impacts and prepares environment for change.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners to define data requirements, develop project specifications, and execute data projects to ensure that the expected outputs are delivered. Provides validation and approval of project deliverables.
  • Works with internal and external partners, external vendors, and industry contacts to enable best-in-class data management practices. Leads and consults on new projects to ensure operational readiness upon implementation into the live environment.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Manages static and dynamic data elements including security setups, asset-level metadata, and pricing information with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintains vendor relationships and oversees contractual data feeds to ensure seamless data ingestion into operational systems.
  • Conducts data control and audit tasks to enforce quality standards and identify opportunities to streamline data collection and distribution processes across the enterprise.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data management, with at least 2 years of project management or team leadership experience in data-intensive environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Data Management. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Mandatory skills- Tableau, Power BI, Python for Data Wrangling.
  • The candidate must have a basic to intermediate knowledge of AWS – Data related services like S3, Sage, Glue, S3, and Unified Studio
  • The candidate must have good communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
  • Nice to have skills- Prompt Engineering
  • Proficient in managing data governance frameworks, project delivery, root cause analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of asset data, vendor feed integration, system change management, and best practices in enterprise data strategy

This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
