Role Description:   

In this role, you'll support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls across CoStar Group including endpoints, identities, cloud platforms, applications, and business processes. You will learn and reinforce security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences while gaining hands-on experience in areas such as vulnerability management, endpoint security, security tool integration, threat detection and response, software security, and emerging areas such as AI security and automation. 

Associate Security Engineers assist with deploying, supporting, and improving security technologies under the guidance of experienced team members. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter who is eager to learn new tools, contribute to security efforts, and help strengthen security practices across the CoStar Enterprise. 

 

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in office and the option to work from home on Friday.   

   

  Basic Qualifications:   

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a comparable major. 
  • Must have an expected graduation date of December 2026 - June 2027. 
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. 
  • Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through personal endeavors outside of undergraduate degree program 
  • At least 2 months of previous relevant internship or co-op experience.      
  • Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, identify potential causes, and document findings or recommended next steps. 
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly in written and verbal formats. 
  • Ability to follow established processes, document work accurately, and collaborate with technical teams. 

Preferred Qualifications and Experiences: 

  • Sec+  
  • CySA+  
  • Security Operation Center experience  
  • Ability to describe basic cybersecurity concepts such as vulnerability management, endpoint security, network security, authentication, access controls, or incident response. 
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, automation, or AI security concepts through internship, co-op, academic, or personal projects.

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies. 

 

Base Compensation: $100,000 - $105,000 annually
