We are looking for a curious and technically skilled Data Analyst to unlock the value hidden within our vast, enterprise-scale policy data. In this role, you will be a critical partner to our Actuarial and business teams, transforming raw data on modern platforms into the strategic insights that enhance customer value, improve business performance, and shape key financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
1. Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Design, develop, and automate key performance reports and insightful dashboards for business stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and governance.
- Champion process modernization by identifying manual, Excel-driven workflows and re-engineering them into automated, scalable solutions using Python.
- Partner with IT to maintain and enhance critical enterprise data marts, acting as a subject matter expert on data structure and availability for the division.
2. Inforce Portfolio Analysis & Modeling
- Develop end-to-end data solutions, from extraction to visualization in Power BI, that empower business teams to monitor the performance of our inforce portfolio.
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, regression) to build segmentation and predictive models that identify distinct policyholder groups and forecast behavior.
- Translate complex analytical findings and model outputs into clear, compelling visualizations and strategic recommendations for targeted retention and cross-sell initiatives.
3. Data Enablement & Ad-Hoc Analysis
- Serve as a dedicated data partner for the Actuarial and Finance teams, providing timely and accurate data sets for their complex modeling and analysis.
- Respond to high-priority business questions with speed and precision, delivering clear, data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects, providing the analytical support to explore new business opportunities and solve challenging problems.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on professional experience as a Data Analyst, gained within a large-scale corporate data or analytics function.
- Excellent SQL skills for querying complex, enterprise-level databases.
- Strong proficiency in Python is essential for data manipulation, automation, and analysis (e.g., pandas, NumPy).
- Demonstrable experience building insightful, interactive dashboards in Power BI.
- Experience with modern data platforms like Databricks and data preparation tools like Alteryx is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) is a strong plus.
- Graduate or advanced degree in a quantitative field.
