Job Overview:

Weatherford has a great opportunity for an experienced Program Manager Advanced Manufacturing Engineering to join the WCP (Well Construction Products) Team in Houston. The Program Manager Advanced Manufacturing Engineering for WCP is responsible for leading and coordinating cross-functional teams to develop and implement advanced manufacturing engineering projects. This includes overseeing the design, development, deployment, and commercialization of products and new technologies to improve production efficiency, costs, quality, and safety. The Program Manager will be responsible for multiple VAVE projects within the WCP Product Lines and will be a key stakeholder on New Technology Transfer Processes. The candidate must possess a good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials engineering, and engineering principles, and be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

OPERATIONS

  • Attends design reviews as necessary to deliver designs for manufacture that meet the outcomes required to accelerate commercial opportunities and returns on investment.
  • Creates internal and external supply chain plans for new products and technologies being developed/commercialized by engineering (R&D, Sustaining, VAVE, etc.).
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis on strategic products to create new supply chain plans aimed at reducing product costs.
  • Responsible for technology transfer activities once he’s assigned to specific projects.
  • Leads Value Analysis and Value Engineering activities as necessary to reduce or achieve cost of goods targets.
  • Implements systems and controls to manage different steps of the PD&C process/manufacturing and measures their effectiveness.
  • Supports other Supply Chain/Manufacturing activities, such as ACQ and MOQ setting, identification and approval of third-party suppliers, SKU rationalization, and others, to further reduce product costs and/or improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Resolves conflicts between standard production and product delivery for new products by coordinating with Materials Management, Category Management, and manufacturing leadership.
  • Performs other duties as needed to support the Supply Chain organization.

FINANCIAL

  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
  • Responsible for achieving the commercial cost of goods sold target for associated WCT products.
  • Report variances between PD&C target costs and commercial targets.
  • Responsible for the on time, on budget delivery for all assigned projects.
  • Responsible for reporting on monthly planned vs actual progress of assigned projects.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technology field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Technology in an environment of both manufactured and sourced finished goods and/or related supply chain management including design, implementation, and execution of manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, material flow and improvement strategies and the ability to integrate those into the operation.
  • Experience with Weatherford business and knowledge of Well Construction Services and Products.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, as well as strong skills as a negotiator to reach consensus, alignment, and commitment.
  • Committed person with a flexible attitude to work patterns.
  • Able and willing to push through constraints in an engaging and collaborative manner.
  • Methodical and naturally inquisitive mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead projects over a matrix organization.

Experience & Qualifications Preferred:

  • MBA or master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
  • PE, Lean / Six Sigma, and/or PMP certifications.
