Responsibilities

Specific Roles and Responsibilities for the FDA Software Engineer position include but are not limited to:

  • Participate as a core member of the Agile team across all planning, analysis, design, development, and testing activities
  • Lead in design, code, code inspections and test inspections throughout the life cycle in developing and modernizing large applications
  • Coordinate closely with peers to ensure proper implementation of system specifications and integration of the new development with the complete system.
  • Work with complex data and understand the current technologies available for data analysis, processing, integration, and visualization
  • Collaborate with the Business Analysts, test team and leads and provide documentation for customer deliverables
  • Develop estimates for design and implementation based on a level of effort and relative sizing depending on complexity of the requirements
  • Must be up to date on the current technology landscape, be technology agnostic, and have a passion for staying current and experimenting with new approaches and tools
  • Comply with CMMI level 3 and project level processes to improve efficiency and consistency of all deliverables
  • Guide and mentor junior software engineers within the project

Qualifications

The Software Developer will have the following qualifications:

  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on full software development lifecycle experience primarily within the Java Development Stack: Java / Enterprise Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, EJB, JPA, Hibernate, SQL, JavaScript, Angular
  • Proficient in developing Mobile Applications using the following technologies: iOS, NativeScript, SQLite, Data Synchronization, Token based authentication
  • Knowledge and experiences with the following technologies and tools: HTTP Server, WebLogic Application Server, Single-Sign-On, Oracle 12c/19c, Exadata, Linux, Git, Jira, SonarQube, AppDynamics
  • Solid understanding of Modern Web Application Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices, Mobile Application Development, DevOps, and Agile development methodology
  • Experiences with Cloud technologies and Low Code/No Code Development are desired
  • Good Troubleshooting and debugging skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-tasks
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including experience working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives.

Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or other related field. Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training, or experience.

Clearance: FDA Public Trust clearance must be obtainable

Location: Hybrid - locals to DMV area highly preferred.
