What’s the role?

The Senior Network Engineer - Cloud Networks is responsible for delivering expert services across the planning, design, implementation, operation and support of high-performance network infrastructure for Westpac Group.

Key responsibilities include designing and supporting secure cloud network infrastructure, driving cloud standards and automation, providing Level 3 technical support, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable cloud solutions.

What do I need?

  • Detailed understanding of integrating different Public Cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Management of public cloud infrastructure at a component level and administration of network services, including an understanding of cloud networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, IP addressing, routing, security groups, load balancers, and network security policies across multiple cloud platforms.
  • Proficient in coding and infrastructure automation/provisioning platforms such as Terraform, Python, Ansible etc.
  • Public cloud technical certifications such as AWS Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
  • Cisco networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE.
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies, and network monitoring tools. Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues, optimize network performance, and conduct root cause analysis using monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • On-call experience for network infrastructure.
  • Understanding of the ITIL framework and service management – i.e. incident, change and problem management.
  • Experience with project management toolsets such as Jira.
  • Any exposure to financial services operating environment and core applications and products would be advantageous.
