Currently, we have a great opportunity to join our Industrial Quality Solutions (IQS) team in NSW as a Service Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Service, this role is responsible for the installation, regular maintenance, repair, applications development and technical support of ZEISS equipment and associated third-party products. The role will primarily support our customer base in NSW but will occasionally be required to travel interstate and internationally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct pre-installation site inspections and consult with customers on installation requirements 
  • Install ZEISS IQS systems, conduct acceptance testing, provide user training and deliver applications support 
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on systems to support high performance standards and maximise instrument uptime 
  • Diagnose and repair designated products within an assigned service territory in accordance with training, manuals and guidelines 
  • Provide qualified technical support to users of ZEISS IQS products in industrial markets 
  • Provide customer applications support to achieve customer-based outcomes 
  • Engage with local team members and global support functions on specific technical topics 
  • Maintain company-issued test equipment, support tools and spare parts 
  • Complete service reports and administration tasks accurately and in a timely manner 
  • Promote service products and contracts to customers where appropriate 
  • Work autonomously to provide efficient customer support and promote ZEISS’s reputation in the market 

 

Key skills required include:

  • Formal qualification in electronic engineering, engineering, physics or a related field 
  • Experience using Coordinate Measuring Machines as a user or in a technical role preferred 
  • Experience, training or knowledge in Coordinate Measuring Machine techniques, systems, repair or servicing would be advantageous 
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows and current-generation computer-controlled interfaces in distributed equipment 
  • Strong awareness of PC-supported instrument diagnostics 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer focus 
  • The ability to work autonomously, with strong personal motivation and sound interpersonal skills
