Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Role Overview

As part of the Mahindra Auto Accessories Business unit, Manager – ARAI Homologation Engineer will be responsible for driving end-to-end homologation and regulatory compliance activities for Vehicle Accessories Program (VAP) products and accessories. This role will ensure that all products comply with applicable automotive regulations, certification requirements, and industry standards before market launch.

Key Responsibilities

Homologation & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage ARAI and CMVR homologation activities for VAP products and accessories.
  • Ensure all vehicle and accessory programs comply with applicable regulatory, safety, and certification requirements.

Technical Documentation & Type Approval

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation required for type approval, homologation submissions, and certification processes.

Certification Agency Coordination

  • Act as the primary interface with ARAI, ICAT, and other certification and testing agencies.
  • Coordinate testing schedules, certification activities, regulatory reviews, and approval processes to meet program timelines.

Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance Management

  • Track changes in CMVR, AIS standards, and other regulatory requirements impacting vehicle accessories and VAP programs.
  • Assess regulatory implications and drive proactive compliance actions across product development teams.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in ARAI homologation processes and certification requirements.
  • Deep understanding of CMVR regulations and AIS standards.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and automotive certification activities.
  • Knowledge of vehicle and accessory testing, validation, and approval processes.

Education Qualification

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in homologation, regulatory compliance, vehicle certification, or automotive engineering roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience working with automotive OEMs, vehicle certification agencies, testing laboratories, or automotive component manufacturers preferred.
  • Hands-on exposure to ARAI, ICAT, CMVR, AIS standards, and homologation approval processes is essential.
