Full description
Senior Product Manager
Optura is healthcare's AI orchestration platform. We help healthcare organizations transform disconnected AI pilots into a unified, enterprise-scale program that delivers measurable value. Our platform enables teams to design, execute, and monitor intelligent agents that drive automation, insights, and action, while providing the control and observability needed to scale safely. Built for real-world complexity, Optura supports multiple model providers, integrates seamlessly with existing infrastructure, and offers both SaaS and self-hosted options. Our mission: revolutionize how healthcare deploys and operationalizes AI in production.
Optura is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own product outcomes end to end and help build our product function from the ground up. This is a role for a customer-obsessed product leader with an eye for data-driven decision making: you will shape the roadmap, turn ambiguity into clear specifications, and use both customer insight and data to decide what gets built, why, and whether it worked. You do not need to write production code, but you do need the technical acumen to work seamlessly with Optura’s engineering team to connect product decisions and the build to company outcomes. This is a high-ownership role that spans the entire customer lifecycle. You’ll have a rare opportunity to define the product function, and your own impact, at a fast-moving startup.
Location:
- Nashville metro area (hybrid) or open to remote for the right candidate
What you'll do:
- Own the roadmap for your product area — define priorities, write specifications, and make the calls on scope and sequencing
- Ground the roadmap in data — advocate for priorities backed by metrics, customer insight, and strong judgment rather than assumptions
- Translate customer business needs into clear product requirements engineers can build against, and translate engineering realities back to stakeholders
- Build trust and win buy-in across a cross-functional team you don't manage — bringing engineering, sales, and marketing along on the "what" and the "why"
- Partner daily with our Romania-based engineering team on sprint planning, backlog grooming, and unblocking decisions across time zones
- Spearhead customer discovery — interviewing and observing real users to uncover needs they can't always articulate, and translating that into what to build not just for them but for all clients
- Triage and prioritize bugs versus features, balancing short-term customer needs with long-term product vision, and partner with sales and customer success to keep feedback loops tight
- Make sound calls under ambiguity — prioritizing when everything feels urgent and requirements shift week to week, and deciding with incomplete data when a deadline won't wait
- Define success metrics for everything you ship, instrument and report on outcomes, help guide quarterly product roadmaps, and establish lightweight but effective product workflows and processes as the company scales
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of product management experience at a software or technology company, including 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity
- Experience defining, instrumenting, and reporting on product metrics, and using data and analytics to prioritize and measure product outcomes
- Track record of partnering with engineering teams to ship products that reached customers and delivered measurable results
- Able to take feature requests and market signals and read what customers actually need — translating what they ask for into what you build, rather than shipping their exact request
- Experience in healthtech or another regulated industry
What we would like to see:
- Technical acumen to hold your own in architecture discussions and understand the trade-offs engineers raise
- Ability to influence without authority — getting cross-functional partners to buy into and build your priorities
- Comfortable in ambiguity — building and owning your own priority list, and making the call on what matters most against the larger objectives we're tracking toward
- Exposure to AI or machine learning products, including how they are scoped, evaluated, and measured
- Experience working across time zones with distributed teams
- Experience as the product voice for a distributed engineering team while sitting with leadership
- Experience standing up a product function, or serving as an early product hire, at an early-stage or high-growth startup
- Experience with business-to-business or enterprise software products
