Meet Fetch AI & Data

AI & Data at Fetch sit at the center of how we understand our business, make decisions, and build intelligent products. The organization operates as an integrated AI & data ecosystem, spanning multiple disciplines, including data engineering, analytics engineering, machine learning, experimentation, and data platforms, all working together to turn data into durable business and customer impact.

Teams operate in complex problem spaces where requirements evolve, tradeoffs are constant, and the right answer is rarely obvious. Success depends on strong technical judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to gather context and make informed decisions while balancing quality, performance, scalability, and responsible use.

Practitioners across this org contribute hands-on to production systems, analytical foundations, and intelligent features. You will collaborate closely with product, platform, and engineering partners, help shape standards and best practices, and ensure our AI and data capabilities scale reliably as Fetch grows.

About the Role

Fetch is entering its AI-first era, and we're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to serve as Technical Lead Manager for AMPS, our delivery platform team. You will architect and evolve the systems that connect Fetch's data products to external partners - including governed data products, clean rooms, DSP connectors, and legacy data feeds - while reducing internal risk and unlocking new go-to-market opportunities.

This role sits at the intersection of platform architecture, partner integration, and data governance. You'll work closely with Product, TPM, GTM, and AIM stakeholders to define technical strategy and roadmap priorities, while managing a team of junior engineers. The management component is intentionally light today; as the team scales, we expect to split off a dedicated Engineering Manager, allowing this role to remain focused on architecture and technical leadership long-term.

AMPS operates within a broader partner model: Sales/GTM owns the commercial relationship, the Technical Account Manager (TAM) owns account cadence and partner communication, Solutions Engineering (SE) owns partner-facing technical delivery and first-line triage, and the Data Product TPM coordinates cross-team exceptions and shared-product changes. Within that model, AMPS owns the export and delivery infrastructure layer - including the data export service, supported connectors, and delivery mechanisms that SE configures for partners. You'll be the platform-level technical owner for systemic, recurring, or infrastructure-level delivery issues.

Role Responsibilities

Architect the Delivery Platform: Own the architecture of the data export service, connectors, and delivery mechanisms across clean rooms, DSP integrations, governed data products, and legacy feeds. Build reusable platform capabilities and establish technical standards that improve reliability, performance, security, and scalability.

Own Reliability, Risk & Escalations: Be accountable for platform reliability, observability, and auditability. Lead resolution of systemic delivery failures escalated by SE or the Data Product TPM, and identify opportunities to reduce risk to partner trust, data integrity, and revenue.

Drive Multi-Quarter Technical Strategy: Define and execute initiatives that shape AMPS and the broader Data organization, such as migrating legacy feeds to governed products or evolving connector architecture for new partner types. Evaluate emerging technologies and tackle ambiguous, cross-team technical problems that require broad alignment.

Lead Through Influence: Partner with Product, TPM, GTM, TAM, SE, and AIM to align roadmap execution and technical direction. Translate architectural tradeoffs into business outcomes, anticipate cross-team dependencies and misalignment, and provide technical leadership across organizational boundaries.

Mentor & Multiply Impact: Mentor engineers across levels and help raise the team's technical bar through coaching, feedback, and strong engineering practices. Model the technical and data-handling standards you want the broader organization to adopt.

Minimum Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, with increasing scope and technical ownership.
  • Strong platform or software engineering background, with experience architecting scalable, reliable systems; data delivery, integrations, or connector-style infrastructure is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success defining and delivering multi-quarter technical initiatives involving ambiguous problems and multiple teams.
  • Experience owning shared infrastructure or platforms designed for reuse, scalability, and predictable operation.
  • Track record of establishing and driving adoption of technical standards or best practices across teams.
  • Experience designing systems that interface with external partners or third parties, with strong attention to reliability, data quality, and governance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and drive architectural alignment without relying on formal authority.
  • Strong understanding of data infrastructure fundamentals, including pipelines, governed data access, and delivery at scale.
  • Experience distinguishing systemic platform issues from partner-specific or configuration issues and driving the appropriate resolution path.
  • Strong mentorship and coaching skills across engineering levels, including senior engineers.
  • Fluency in modern software ecosystems such as Kubernetes, event streaming, CI/CD, observability tooling, and AI-assisted development workflows.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical strategy and architectural tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, evolving environments with a focus on measurable business and technical outcomes.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with clean rooms, DSP integrations, or similar partner-facing data infrastructure.
  • People management or team-lead experience; a strong mentorship track record can substitute for formal management experience.
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance-aware system design.
  • Experience modernizing legacy data feeds while building governed alternatives.
  • Exposure to AdTech, MarTech, or data-monetization ecosystems.
  • Track record of improving reliability, latency, or developer velocity on a data- or integration-heavy platform.
