As part of its continued growth, the company has recently been awarded a significant federal infrastructure project in Southern Arizona and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead this important initiative.
About the Position
We are seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead the execution of a major design-build heavy civil infrastructure project located in Pima County, Arizona.
Reporting to senior operations leadership, the Project Manager will have full responsibility for project execution from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all contractual requirements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale design-build projects involving complex civil infrastructure, remote jobsite operations, and federal or public-sector clients. This position offers the opportunity to lead a highly visible project while working alongside an experienced team on one of the region's most significant infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for all phases of project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and project controls.
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams including field operations, engineering, estimating, quality, and safety personnel.
- Coordinate closely with owners, design partners, subcontractors, and government stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Oversee project financial performance, forecasting, cost controls, change management, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all contract requirements, quality standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
- Lead design-build coordination efforts between engineering and construction teams to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
- Manage subcontractor performance, procurement strategies, and material logistics.
- Identify project risks early and implement proactive solutions to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence across the project team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience serving as a Project Manager on heavy civil construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing at least two Design-Build projects of similar scope or complexity.
- Experience leading at least two construction projects valued at $10 million or greater.
- Strong background managing complex infrastructure projects from preconstruction through final completion.
- Previous experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
- Federal construction
- Border infrastructure projects
- Heavy civil construction
- Linear infrastructure
- Roadway construction
- Utility infrastructure
- Remote-site construction
- Proven leadership managing large multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, contract administration, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
- Stable employment history demonstrating long-term success with previous employers.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
