Full description

Software Engineer (React / TypeScript / Express) | Contract (UK)

Contract, outside IR35. Mid-September to mid-January.

While there's no set number of days you're required on site, there will be times when the client needs the team together in person for important meetings, workshops and key moments. When that's the case, we'd expect you to attend.

To make that work, you'll need to be based within 50 miles of one of our offices in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester or London.

Who are we

hedgehog lab is a global tech consultancy with two decades of experience and offices in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester and London.

We build digital products that turn strategic ambition into things that actually ship. We're a certified B Corp with a Flexa-certified culture.

The role

You'll be working with a healthcare software company that builds a practice management and electronic health record platform used by clinicians across a wide range of specialities.

Hands-on delivery across a modern TypeScript stack, React on the front end and Express on the back, alongside the existing engineering team.

There's a French dimension to this one. The client works to French healthcare standards (Ségur certification), and much of the specification is written in French. We need people who can read and work from those specs properly, not run them through a translator.

Essential experience

  • Strong TypeScript and JavaScript
  • React on the front end, Express and Node on the back

Nice to have experience

  • Experience with Ségur or French medical/EHR systems
  • French language ability
