Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Reports To: Supply Chain Manager

Work Schedule: General Business hours

Position Type: Full Time Onsite – LA Office Location

FLSA Status:??Exempt

Compensation: $85-90K DOE

Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that the quality and materials of the procured fruit meet the standards of the company and the customers being serviced. This position is also responsible for providing feedback to the team and/or growers on the product being inspected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct, evaluate, and document inbound product inspections primarily inside of cold storage environment (receiving area, cold storage rooms, etc.)

• Ensure the correct product is directed accurately to each customer according to their specifications.

• Regularly perform inspections on product that has been previously received.

• Provide daily updates to sales on aged and/or troubled product .

• Monitor fruit inventory both physically and in Famous software

• Supervise restyles and repacks to include, but will not be limited to:

o Evaluation of fruit

o Coordination and planning with 3PL and accurately update reports in Famous software.

o Efficiency of operation

o Devise creative and cost-savings measures

o Confirm correct packaging, labeling and weights.

• Enter manifests and communicate inbound arrivals with 3PL as needed.

• Reconcile manifest quantities against 3PL receiving reports as needed.

• Interact professionally with customers, growers and fruit inspectors.

• Occasional domestic or international travel to perform these activities in related company owned or 3PL facilities.

• Ensure integrity in decision-making processes and demonstrate accountability.

• Other related task as assigned.

• Proficient with Famous Software, preferred.

• Proficient in 10 key.

• Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required.

• Good driving record and reliable vehicle required.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in produce-related Experience or related field (highly preferred.) Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

• Clerical experience preferred.

General Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the e ssential functions of this job.

• This is largely an Administrative QC role and requires a certain amount of physical activity.

• This would require the ability to lift product, open restyles and repacks, while doing inspections, constantly walking, standing, lifting, etc. as necessary.

• Driving/climbing in and out of a vehicle.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs or more at times. Mobility and Travel:

• Travel is expected for this position up to 25%.

• Overnight Travel usually within the U.S but can be international.

Handling and Inspection:

• Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying boxes of fruit or samples, typically weighing up to 25-30 pounds.

• Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle and inspect fruit samples, requiring good manual dexterity and hand -eye coordination.

Office Work:

• Seated Work: Extended periods of sitting while working at a computer, attending virtual meetings, and completing paperwork.

• Computer Use: Frequent use of computers, which involves repetitive motions such as typing and using a mouse.

Warehouse and Storage Facilities:

• Temperature Variations: Exposure to different temperature conditions when visiting refrigerated storage facilities or warehouses.

• Climbing: Occasionally climbing ladders or steps to access stored products. Health and Safety:

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Use of appropriate PPE when required, such as gloves, safety glasses, and protective foo twear.

• Safety Protocols: Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, especially in packing and storage facilities. Supervisory Responsibility:

Visual and Sensory Requirements:

• Visual Acuity: Good visual acuity to inspect fruit quality and detect any defects or issues.

• Sensory Evaluation: Ability to use sensory skills such as taste and smell to assess fruit quality.

Communication:

• Clear Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and via email, which is essential for coordinating with suppliers, clients, and team members. Other Duties:
