Job Description

Due to the location of Barlow's engineers in the area, Newport would be an ideal location for an applicant, but as long as you can easily commute in the Bristol/Newport area, that is what matters.

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

  • Access Control
  • Video Surveillance
  • Intruder Alarms
  • Fire Alarms
  • PAVA systems
  • Disabled refuge systems
  • Emergency lighting

Entry Requirements

  • Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check
  • Live locally and able to commute
  • Previous experience/qualifications in electrical installation will be beneficial

Training to be Provided

This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Bristol centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
