Location: Remote-Ohio Valley Region Preferred {Travel ~50%

At ANDRITZ – Allen-Sherman-Hoff (ASH), you’ll work directly inside power plants and industrial facilities, helping customers troubleshoot, optimize, and improve critical material handling systems that keep operations running.

This is a unique hybrid role that blends field service, technical problem solving, and customer-facing business development — ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with equipment while also identifying opportunities to improve performance and grow business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Field Service & Troubleshooting

  • Perform on-site diagnostics and troubleshooting of ash handling and material handling systems
  • Support installation, startup, shutdowns, and commissioning activities
  • Evaluate existing systems (both ANDRITZ and competitor equipment)
  • Conduct multi-day site assessments to identify performance improvements

Customer-Facing & Relationship Building

  • Work directly with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
  • Deliver technical recommendations, system evaluations, and training
  • Build long-term customer relationships through hands-on support
  • Act as a trusted advisor in solving equipment and process challenges

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and develop aftermarket service, upgrade, and parts opportunities
  • Support proposals, scopes, and solution development
  • Partner closely with Sales, Engineering, and Aftermarket teams
  • Help expand ASH’s reach into new industries and applications

This Role Is Ideal For Candidates With Backgrounds In

  • Field Service Engineer – industrial equipment
  • Maintenance / Reliability Engineer (power plant or heavy industry)
  • Mechanical Engineer with hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Aftermarket, service, or equipment support roles
  • Industrial equipment sales or technical service

What You Bring

  • Experience working with industrial equipment, mechanical systems, or material handling systems
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • troubleshooting
  • maintenance
  • commissioning or field service
  • Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in field environments
  • Interest in combining technical expertise with business development

✔ Experience in power generation, ash handling, material handling, or similar industries is a strong plus

Travel

  • Travel approximately 50% to customer sites across the U.S.
  • Travel is tied to hands-on field work and direct customer engagement across a variety of industrial environments
