How will you make an impact?

We are looking for a Sr. Principal Power Electronics Engineer within the Intelligent Infrastructure Segment to drive advanced power electronics and energy storage from concept through production. As a Sr. Principal Engineer, you will be expected to demonstrate a level of expertise that matches or exceeds the expertise of our customers. You will lead the design and development of power shelf architectures, battery backup units (BBUs), and intelligent power distribution platforms that support the evolving needs of data centers, telecommunications, and electrification markets. To succeed in this role, you will assess technical requirements and competencies during initial quoting stages (RFP/RFQ) and oversee design progressions during the product development lifecycles. You will mentor and lead others in the organization while collaborating with cross-functional teams, customers, and global vendors to deliver high-quality solutions meeting our customers’ needs and industry standards.

What will you do?

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and testing of high-density power shelves, rack-mounted power systems, and solid-state transformers in varying form factors and product lines.
  • Support the development of advanced energy storage solutions utilizing lithium-ion and sodium-ion chemistries for BBUs and critical power infrastructure.
  • Ensure all designs meet safety and certification requirements such as NEC/NFPA, IEEE, and UL/IEC.
  • Participate in customer engagements and site visits to understand deployment constraints and gather feedback for design improvements.
  • Translate complex power electronics designs into manufacturable products by working closely with site manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.
  • Lead training, process development, production readiness reviews, and factory enablement activities to ensure a smooth transition from engineering development to high-volume production.
  • Perform detailed failure‑mode analysis, including FMEA and root‑cause investigations for electrical defects or field issues.
  • Be highly proficient in developing, updating, and interpreting electrical one‑line diagrams for rack‑level power architectures, ensuring accurate representation of power flow, grounding, redundancy, and protection devices.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation including BOMs, specifications, test plans, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

How will you get here?
