About Atlas Coffee Club

At Atlas Coffee Club, we source and roast specialty coffee from around the world and deliver unique coffee experiences directly to consumers through our subscription platform, ecommerce channels, and marketplace partnerships.

Founded in 2015, Atlas is on a mission to take people on a world tour of coffee. Each month, we deliver freshly roasted, single-origin coffee from a new country, highlighting the rich stories behind its coffee culture. We’re a fast-growing, bootstrapped startup that thrives on creativity, quality, and building products that surprise and delight our tens of thousands of members.

As we enter our second decade, we’re building products that help our members get deeper into coffee through new origins, formats, and global flavors, and fall hard for what they find.

About You

  • You love crafting great product experiences for the everyday.
  • You love launching to learn, through experiments and live prototyping.
  • You know what good looks, feels, and tastes like.
  • You sweat the details.

Position Overview

The Product Development Manager – CPG will help develop new Atlas products that meaningfully address consumer needs across the coffee journey, from initial concept through launch and the iterations that follow.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Product Development. You’ll work across consumer insights, concept development, packaging, sourcing, quality assurance, and launch execution. Day-to-day, you’ll partner closely with Product Development, Growth, and Operations teams, and external suppliers.

Core Responsibilities

Build the Product

  • Research consumer, category, and competitor data, qualitative & quantitative.
  • Shape concepts, sketching product propositions, visuals, copy, and packaging designs.
  • Update copy and visual content for the department’s recurring subscription products.
  • Author design briefs and work with designers to manifest them into polished packaging and creative assets.

Source and Manage Suppliers

  • Find and vet suppliers against our quality, cost, capacity, and reliability standards.
  • Support the day-to-day relationship with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Support negotiations on pricing, MOQs, lead times, and production terms.
  • Flag timeline, cost, quality, or supply risk early enough for teams to act on it.
  • Hold conviction for the customer experience, guarding it through to the final product.

Drive the Product Through the Calendar

  • Own execution of your launches from approved concept to production readiness.
  • Coordinate across the Growth and Operations teams and with external suppliers.
  • Keep the product calendar current and moving against our annual plans.

Feed the Demand Forecast

  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations on unit forecasts for new products.
  • Bring the inputs: demand expectations, launch timing, supplier capacity, and lead times.
  • Balance staying in stock against sitting on inventory we can’t move.

Track and Iterate the Product

  • Design and launch experiments as live high-fidelity prototypes, testing early and often.
  • Monitor and analyze launches: conversion, retention, feedback, and operational data.
  • Iterate on it: change the product, packaging, price, positioning. Then run it again.
  • Update and organize product data throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 3–4+ years of experience in product development, product management, brand management, design & innovation, or a related role, preferably within CPG, food, beverage, or ecommerce.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Product Design, or a related field preferred.
  • You’ve worked across the physical product development lifecycle, including briefing, sourcing, sampling, production, quality assurance, packaging, and fulfillment.
  • You write with conviction and clarity; you think in ideas first, then words.
  • You’re fluent with Excel or Google Sheets, and comfortable with data analysis.
