About Us

At Intramotev, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the freight industry by liberating tons of freight from congested highways, reducing carbon emissions, and enhancing transportation efficiency. We are deploying self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles to transform freight logistics and bring innovation to our rail network. Based in St. Louis, MO, we are committed to promoting industrial revitalization, saving lives, and minimizing the environmental impact of trucking.

We actively foster a work environment for every teammate that's welcoming, respectful and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us.

Role Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to take day-to-day ownership of the GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines and internal server/cloud infrastructure that our engineering team depends on. You'll be the first line of response for build reliability and infrastructure availability, working across software, embedded, and other engineering disciplines to keep the pipeline fast and the infrastructure healthy.

This is a full-time, 100% in-office role based in St. Louis, MO. You'll work within a team of 3–10 engineers and engage in occasional domestic travel for testing, integration, demonstrations, and customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Ownership: Maintain and improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, triaging flaky builds and driving down build times to improve developer experience.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Manage internal server and cloud infrastructure for the engineering team, taking first-line responsibility for availability and performance issues.
  • Tooling Integration: Standardize and integrate internally built engineering tools into development workflows.
  • Test Automation: Maintain and extend automated testing frameworks in the pipeline, working with software engineers to expand coverage.
  • Lifecycle Support: Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues for fielded systems.
  • Documentation: Document systems and establish sustainable operational practices.

About You: Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3–8 years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, Build/Release Engineering, or Systems Administration.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions or a comparable CI/CD platform (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI).
  • Working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Comfortable working with Linux servers and shell scripting.
  • Experience at a startup or small company (or an equivalent small-team role inside a larger organization) where you owned the full CI/CD and infrastructure stack end-to-end, rather than a narrow specialist slice of it.
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • Exposure to Rail, Electric Vehicles, Unmanned Systems, or other hardware/embedded domains.
  • Experience supporting embedded software builds or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Containerization with Docker.
  • Scripting in Python or Bash for automation.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Exposure to monitoring/observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience on cross-functional teams alongside other engineering disciplines; Agile/Scrum environments.

Typical Education and Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Relocation

No relocation assistance is provided; candidates must currently reside in the St. Louis metro area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
