Senior Business Analyst, Information Technology

  • Employment Type: Temporary

  • Employment period: 10months (Aug 26 – June 27)

  • Classification / Grade / Band: Clerk Grade 9/10

  • Remuneration: $133,348 - $146,945; plus, Superannuation and Leave Loading

  • Location: Sydney CBD

Your day as a Senior Business Analyst

Your typical day-to-day work will include engagement with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear requirements, analyse impacts, and support the delivery of digital initiatives that align with Treasury’s strategic priorities.

Your analytical skills will be essential as you review and analyse the organisation’s business intentions, services, processes, and information needs to identify improvements. This role involves conducting research, evaluating functional and non-functional requirements, and developing technical and non-technical specifications documentation. This role will demand the demonstration of quick, accurate, and complex analysis and critical thinking skills, and communicate clear recommendations to decision-makers.

Proactively building robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders is paramount, as is your contribution to improving the delivery of outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

What you can bring to the role

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Extensive relevant experience in a similar role and/or experience in Information Technology

  • Strong analytical skills with astute attention to detail

  • Demonstrated experience in using process/workflow modelling techniques (e.g. data flow diagrams, Business Process Modelling Notation, among others)

  • Proven experience in conducting assessments to identify business processes with automation potential

  • Demonstrated currency of knowledge in agile software development life cycle delivery

  • Demonstrated effective stakeholder management, influencing and dispute resolution skills
