MAC Network Operations Administrator

An organization is seeking a MAC Network Operations Administrator to join its Technology Operations team in a unique hybrid role that blends Mission Assurance Center (MAC) Operations and Network Administration responsibilities.This position offers a 50/50 split between operational monitoring, incident coordination, and service assurance activities, along with hands-on network deployment, configuration, testing, and infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will have a strong networking background, enjoy working in a fast-paced operations environment, and be comfortable collaborating across multiple technical teams to maintain service availability and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities

Mission Assurance Center (50%)

Technology Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Monitor enterprise technology environments using observability, monitoring, and event management platforms
  • Proactively identify, investigate, document, and respond to infrastructure, application, network, and service-related events
  • Maintain visibility into the health and availability of critical business and technology services
  • Document incidents, outages, operational events, and remediation activities within service management systems

Operational Support & Escalation

  • Serve as a daytime escalation point for operational support issues
  • Coordinate incident response activities during service-impacting events
  • Perform initial triage and route issues to the appropriate technical teams
  • Facilitate communication and status updates during outages and major incidents
  • Track action items, next steps, and stakeholder communications throughout the incident lifecycle

Process Improvement & Playbook Execution

  • Execute established operational procedures and support playbooks
  • Conduct monitoring validation, recovery tasks, and system health checks
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Network, and Application teams to improve operational documentation and standard processes
  • Identify opportunities to enhance monitoring coverage, documentation quality, and operational readiness

Configuration & Inventory Management

  • Support Configuration Management Database (CMDB) accuracy and maintenance
  • Assist with asset management and inventory tracking across technology environments
  • Audit and update ownership, location, relationship, and service information within asset management systems

Network Administration (50%)

Network Equipment Deployment

  • Receive, inventory, stage, and prepare network equipment for deployment
  • Load approved firmware and software versions onto network devices
  • Configure and validate network hardware using established standards and automation tools
  • Support network implementation activities tied to infrastructure projects and operational initiatives
  • Configure management, logging, monitoring, and administrative services for deployed equipment

Documentation & Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate deployment documentation, support records, and operational procedures
  • Populate and update CMDB records with asset, ownership, and location information
  • Coordinate with Network Engineering, Systems, Application Support, and Field Services teams to maintain data accuracy

Testing & Validation

  • Perform device acceptance and readiness testing
  • Validate configurations before deployment into production environments
  • Test and support firmware and software upgrades
  • Assist with infrastructure validation activities during network changes and implementations

Maintenance & Project Support

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleanup activities within network environments
  • Assist with troubleshooting and remediation efforts
  • Support technology implementation projects requiring network deployment, testing, and operational handoff
  • Participate in project reviews and infrastructure planning activities

Preferred Qualifications
