The role:
The role of a Junior JavaScript Backend Developer involves building and maintaining APIs, integrations, tests, and Node.js applications according to best practices. You will work closely with the team to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who has moved beyond the fundamentals, is comfortable solving technical challenges with limited guidance, and is eager to develop into a fully independent backend engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Build and support backend Node.js applications
- Work closely with other team members to design and develop APIs and integrations
- Produce clean, efficient code while adhering to coding standards and best practices
- Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to deliver high-quality applications
- Enhance application performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Stay current with the latest backend development trends and technologies
Requirements:
- Must have 0.5–2 years of commercial experience, or strong experience in personal/open-source projects
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js is must
- Understanding REST APIs fundamentals and techniques
- Experience with SQL databases and Git
- Willingness to learn and improve code quality practices
- Strong English language skills are required for working with software and developing solutions tailored for international audiences and users
- Legal right to work and reside in Latvia
