Full description

The Facilities and Maintenance Project Manager position is responsible for overseeing and leading the general maintenance and up-keep of equipment and buildings within the company’s office space, manufacturing space, and grounds across our three facilities in Kalamazoo. This position reports to the Industrial Engineering Manager and must work effectively at scheduling and working without supervision. This position will perform other duties as requested which will include the direct supervision of outside contractors and may include employee supervision.

Qualifications

  • Dedication to excellence and a quality output.
  • High school diploma (Associates/Trade Certification in manufacturing discipline a plus).
  • Punctual with a bias for action.
  • Familiar with facility project work including painting, drywalling, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Familiar with operation, cleaning, and maintenance of tools from hand tools to industrial capital equipment.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License (chauffer license a plus).

 

General Responsibilities

  • Continuous improvement is expected in all critical activities such as overall facility quality and appearance, safety and productivity.
  • Reporting to the appropriate team members major issues requiring outside support.
  • The employee will supply the basic tools required to perform the above operations.

Office Responsibilities

  • Inspection of lighting, walls, doors, woodwork, ceilings, and floors for damage.
  • Minor plumbing and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Annual breaker box inspections.
  • Repair minor damages to walls and mechanical equipment, to include painting.

Shop Floor Responsibilities

  • Inspection of lighting, walls, doors, columns, ceilings, and floors for damage.
  • Minor equipment and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Evaluation of broken tools and equipment.
  • Annual breaker box inspections.
  • General maintenance on industrial equipment.

Grounds Responsibilities

  • Inspection of exterior walls, lighting, and parking lot for damage.
  • Minor repairs as necessary.

 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
