Overview

Are you a talented software engineer who dreams about using your skills working for an influential organization building mapping, GIS, and analytics applications used globally? Are you interested in developing AI tools, models, and assistant experiences to help Esri software users be more productive and solve complex geospatial problems? If so, come join the Analytics development team at Esri! Here you can make a difference to the GIS community, building agents and experiences for ArcGIS Pro that help our users learn about and complete a variety of spatial analysis and data science use cases. This is a great opportunity to work with a dedicated team as we support worldwide customers who are solving critical and diverse problems using the power of spatial analysis in ArcGIS!

Responsibilities

  • Build AI tools, models, assistants, and user experiences in ArcGIS Pro
  • Construct data processing pipelines using software usage data and samples to feed into AI modeling processes
  • Integrate AI technologies accessed as remote services with local/managed desktop applications using Copilot C# SDK
  • Use fine-tuning, predictive models, generative LLMs, RAG, and other AI technologies to assist ArcGIS users with their production workflows
  • Design, code, and ship quality software by working effectively in a highly interactive and coordinated team environment
  • Participate in research and development of new ideas and approaches that match or exceed the existing quality
  • Follow design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment techniques
  • Analyze, and fix bugs and performance problems whenever they occur in the software
  • Coordinate testing tasks with software testers, including running unit and confidence tests, to ensure high quality development free of defects

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional experience coding AI, ML, and DL libraries using Python or related software development languages
  • Firm understanding of applying AI technology and demonstrated ability to stay up to date in this rapidly changing space
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming patterns for desktop application development
  • Friendly, respectful, and open-minded attitude
  • Ability to work closely with a team of software developers, product engineers, software designers, and others to build quality software and meet user demands
  • An enthusiastic and self-motivated team player and collaborator
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Familiarity with C#, .NET, MVVM, and WPF
  • Familiarity with Esri products or similar GIS software
  • Experience with development and release of commercial software products
  • Experience writing testable (or test-driven) software
  • Data science experience
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field

$79,040—$133,016 USD
