As a Fab Support Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will identify and execute projects that improve reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, reduce costs, and enhance operational performance across Fab Support systems, including pumps, abatement systems, chillers, and related infrastructure. You will partner closely with Tool Owners, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Suppliers to analyze equipment performance, resolve recurring issues, and implement sustainable improvements that support Micron's Safety, Quality, Cost, and Output objectives.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys data analysis, problem solving, project coordination, and driving measurable improvements across multiple equipment functions.
Responsibilities:
- Introduce improvements that raise reliability and performance.
- Evaluate preventative maintenance effectiveness, support optimization strategies using equipment performance and reliability data and reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.
- Analyze downtime, maintenance, and equipment performance data to identify recurring issues for reliability improvement.
- Guide activites for engineering practices and quality requirements.
- Develop and maintain equipment performance metrics and dashboards.
- Coordinate equipment improvement projects, upgrades, and reliability initiatives.
- Identify and complete continuous improvement projects for Fab Support systems.
- Develop and standardize Best-Known Methods (BKMs) and processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent engineering and semiconductor experience.
- More than two years semiconductor experience supporting reliability and maintenance engineering of pumps, abatement systems, chillers, or other support equipment.
- Familiarity with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize various projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience improving safety, quality and operational performance.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency using AI-enabled tools to improve documentation quality, workflow efficiency, and data-driven decision-making with an interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current and future processes.
