We're looking for a Data Analyst who can turn raw data from multiple business systems into clear, actionable insight. This role leans heavily on business intelligence tooling and on connecting disparate systems — ERP, CRM, HR, and operational platforms — so that reporting reflects a single, trustworthy picture of the business. You'll work closely with IT, operations, and department leaders to build dashboards, automate data flows, and support better decision-making across the company. This position will focus on Business Intelligence & Systems Integration activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations between core business systems (ERP, CRM, databases, cloud platforms) using APIs, ETL/ELT tools, or custom scripts
- Partner with stakeholders across departments to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions
- Clean, validate, and model data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems
- Monitor data integration jobs and troubleshoot failures, discrepancies, or data quality issues
- Automate recurring reporting processes to reduce manual data pulls
- Document data sources, transformation logic, and integration workflows
- Support ad hoc data analysis requests with clear, well-visualized findings
- Identify opportunities to improve data infrastructure, integration efficiency, and reporting accuracy
- Promote a strong quality culture aligned with Cooper Steel’s core priorities of Safety, Quality, and Production.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst, BI analyst, or similar role
- Hands-on experience with a BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
- Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data across multiple systems
- Experience integrating data between platforms via APIs, connectors, or ETL tools (e.g., Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, Python scripting, or similar)
- Solid understanding of data modeling and relational database concepts
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
WHO ARE YOU?
- Proactive in your approach to independently handling multiple projects; efficiently multitask across various phases of projects from development to implementation.
- Subject Matter Expert of specific application technology with demonstrative ability to convey both technical and functional concepts.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, active collaborator able to balance the tactical against the big picture.
- Innovative problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Knowledgeable of emerging technologies and trends to leverage in our process improvement goals.
