Job Description
- This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to and lead the creation of a state-of-the-art biometrics application built ground up cloud native
- Enforcing best practices, compliance, and security across multiple cloud environments including cost optimization and service tradeoffs
- Collaborate with the product owner and their team to prioritize delivery and clarify requirements in terms of testability, consistency, and completeness.
- Actively participate in backend development using Java, including design, coding, testing, CI/CD, and deployment
- Ready, willing, and able to pick up new technologies.
- Establish best practices and technology standards to support the delivery lifecycle including automation and security coverage.
- Work alongside others on the team to provide architectural and design guidance to fellow engineers
- Establishing coding standards, implement core architectural elements, perform code reviews
- Support their teammates through HR processes such as career growth, performance reviews, and blocker removal.
- Lead daily scrum calls, track team progress, and ensure smooth communication with all stakeholders (US product, engineering, QA, program teams).
- Coordinate effectively between offshore (India) and onsite (US) teams, ensuring alignment and timely delivery.
- Design and help their team architect solutions that include cloud computing, infrastructure, distributed systems, microservices-orientated patterns, security, and/or automation.
- Drive delivery predictability, team productivity, sprint discipline, and proactive risk management in an Agile environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience with knowledge of all phases of SDLC, having spent at-least 3+ years in leading and managing development teams using Agile methodologies
- Native Cloud knowledge and hands on experience from a platform perspective (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS)
- AWS and/or Azure development and deployment experience including microservice architecture on the cloud
- Understanding and working knowledge of using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to represent service architecture and configuration
- Passionate about fast feedback cycles, continuous integration, devops, and test automation
- Experience building secure, scalable software systems (UI, API’s, data persistence layers)
- Experience leading a cross functional software team including frontend/backend/QA/Devops engineers
- Strong hands‑on expertise in Java and Java‑based microservices (mandatory)
- Frontend/UI experience (React/Angular/TypeScript/NodeJS) is a plus  
- Experience working with and leading remote teams including offshore resources
- Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retros, backlog grooming)
- Hands‑on coding and technical contribution experience is mandatory
- Ability to collaborate effectively with US‑based teams in a distributed/offshore setup
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer science or related field and/or relevant experience
