This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud Application Architect (Node.js and React.js) based in United States.

This is a senior architecture role focused on modernizing and evolving enterprise-scale applications within a cloud environment.You will shape the architecture and technical foundation of a large, multi-tenant platform supporting mission-critical public-sector work.The role combines hands-on software development with cloud architecture, automation, infrastructure as code, and technical leadership.You will work closely with Agile development, DevOps, UI/UX, product, and cloud engineering teams to design and deliver scalable solutions.The position offers the opportunity to apply AWS, Node.js, React.js, serverless, microservices, and modern CI/CD practices to complex technology challenges.You will also contribute to operational excellence through security, documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement.This is a fully remote position with limited travel and an environment designed for experienced engineers who want to lead technical innovation.

Accountabilities:

  • Architect, design, deploy, maintain, and enhance enterprise-class cloud applications and large, multi-tenant AWS platforms.
  • Lead modernization initiatives across application architecture, cloud infrastructure, automation, and software delivery.
  • Develop and maintain applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, Bash, and Python.
  • Design and implement React.js front-end applications and scalable backend services using AWS technologies.
  • Design and implement serverless and microservices-based solutions using services such as AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, VPC, and IAM.
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code practices using tools such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Design and support RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures that meet scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD capabilities and automated deployment processes using platforms such as GitLab.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, cloud engineers, architects, DevOps teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, reliability, and operational performance of cloud applications and infrastructure.
  • Apply advanced Linux expertise, including exposure to kernel-level operations, to support application and platform performance.
  • Support serverless architecture, containerization, automation, and other modern cloud engineering practices.
  • Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from architecture and design through development, deployment, and ongoing sustainment.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, knowledge articles, and other technical documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams and contribute to presentations for stakeholders at different organizational levels.
  • Support continuous improvement and help establish technical direction for evolving cloud solutions.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of related professional experience, including extensive experience with AWS cloud computing and enterprise application architecture.
  • Training, certificate, or degree in a relevant technical discipline required; a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, Bash, and Python.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production-grade React.js front-end applications.
  • Expert-level experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, serverless computing, microservices, and containerization.
  • Experience designing and implementing AWS Lambda services and microservices within multi-tenant environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab.
  • Advanced Linux expertise, including at least some exposure to kernel-level operations.
  • Extensive software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated presentation and stakeholder-management skills, including experience communicating at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Prior experience serving as a Team Lead and/or Manager is required.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a Public Trust designation, including completion of the required background investigation and onsite fingerprinting.
  • Must meet the required U.S. person eligibility criteria, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, refugee or asylee status.
  • No existing security clearance is required at the time of application.
  • Willingness to travel less than 10% as required.
