This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.
We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong Full Stack Java expertise to join the EEDS Core Technologies Team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building scalable, resilient, and cloud-native applications while playing a key role within an agile team delivering enterprise-grade solutions and platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
- Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
- Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
- Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
- Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Automates manual release activities
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software development experience with current responsibilities as a Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead.
- Proven experience designing and developing enterprise-scale applications using Java and modern web technologies.
- Strong experience leading technical design discussions and mentoring development teams.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern application development frameworks.
- Build modern, responsive user interfaces using React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, architects, product owners, and engineering teams to define software architecture and technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and consume RESTful services, event-driven integrations, and messaging solutions.
- Develop prototypes, proof of concepts, and reference implementations.
- Work extensively with relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
- Implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and support cloud-native and containerized solutions using Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and cloud platforms.
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, and automated testing frameworks.
