Position Summary

The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for leading, implementing, and continuously improving construction safety programs across active job sites in the United States. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and client requirements while driving a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage site-based safety programs for commercial, industrial, and/or infrastructure construction projects
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and applicable state regulations
  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
  • Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and competency-based training
  • Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to integrate safety into project execution
  • Manage subcontractor safety performance, pre-qualification, and compliance
  • Track and report leading and lagging indicators (TRIR, DART, near misses)
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
  • Participate in client and regulatory safety meetings and inspections

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience on active job sites
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Experience managing multi-trade subcontractors
  • Proven ability to influence field leadership and frontline workers
  • Proficient in incident reporting systems and Microsoft Office

Certifications (Preferred)

  • OSHA 30 (Construction) – required
  • CHST, CSP, or ASP – strongly preferred
  • First Aid / CPR / AED

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to walk active construction sites and climb ladders/scaffolding
  • Travel up to 50–75% depending on project needs

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, education, and qualifications.

Pay Range

$50—$50 USD
