Job DetailsJob Location: Dublin, OH 43017Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $68,000.00 Salary/yearAt Roto, Environmental Graphic Designers contribute to the design of engaging and immersive experiences across museums, attractions, zoos, aquariums, and play-based environments. This role is responsible for executing components of exhibit design through all stages of the process, often working under the guidance of Senior Designers, Design Directors, or Principals-in-Charge. Environmental Graphic Designers are key contributors to creative problem-solving, spatial planning, and design communication, and are expected to bring curiosity, flexibility, and thoughtful collaboration to every project. The successful candidate will contribute independently to projects with growing ownership and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Demonstrating increasing technical fluency, design judgment, and initiative they communicate ideas clearly, and contribute meaningfully to project outcomes while still receiving guidance from more senior team members.

Primary Responsibilities

Design Development & Execution

Contribute to the creative development of interpretive and media-rich environments.

Translate creative direction into spatial concepts, plans, elevations, and diagrams.

Produce compelling design presentations and visualizations for internal and client review.

Draft and organize drawing sets and documentation across Concept, Schematic, and Detail Design phases.

Collaboration & Communication

Work in partnership with internal design, development, and production teams.

Participate in cross-disciplinary meetings, charrettes, and reviews.

Integrate feedback from team leads, creative directors, and clients.

Communicates and presents design ideas, drawings, and concepts internally and to clients with clarity, care, and confidence.

Plans and prioritizes their workload independently, with minimal oversight from project teams or supervisors

Project Contribution

Deliver high-quality design work on time and within scope.

Support multiple projects at various stages simultaneously.

Maintain flexibility in role assignments, adapting based on project needs.

Learning & Growth

Demonstrate increasing independence in assigned design tasks.

Stay current on trends in exhibit design, visitor experience, and spatial storytelling.

Participate in ongoing training and mentorship within Roto.

Qualifications & Competencies

Bachelor's degree in architecture, industrial design, exhibit design, interior design, or a related field.

2–5 years of experience in an exhibit, museum, or experiential design environment preferred.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD (Revit a plus).

Strong 2D and 3D visualization and drafting skills.

Working knowledge of materials, fabrication, and construction documentation.

Enthusiasm for team-based environments and collaboration.

Comfortable presenting ideas and receiving feedback.

Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
