About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that power our healthcare products and platforms. You will work across cloud-native architectures, modern development frameworks, and distributed systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. In addition to contributing hands-on technical expertise, you will mentor junior engineers, promote engineering best practices, and help drive innovation through modern software development methodologies and AI-assisted engineering tools.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with other technical personnel and team members to refine and finalize requirements for complex software solutions.
- Write and review detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications and services using modern software engineering practices.
- Complete and troubleshoot complex bug fixes while ensuring application reliability and performance.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement and promote development processes, coding standards, code reviews, and software engineering best practices.
- Operate effectively in various development environments, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Design and work with complex data models, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.
- Resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems and cloud-based environments.
- Mentor and train less-experienced software engineers, supporting their technical growth and development.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and software development innovations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across architecture, development practices, and engineering processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience required.
- Advanced proficiency in Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React)
- Deep experience designing and maintaining microservices architectures.
- Strong experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes/EKS.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services, including ECS/Fargate, EKS, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture tradeoffs, scalability, performance optimization, and cost management.
- Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of modern software delivery practices, including trunk-based development, automated deployments, and progressive delivery.
- Experience with API Gateway technologies and authentication/authorization frameworks such as OAuth, JWT, Kong, or Keycloak.
- Advanced knowledge of observability and monitoring solutions including New Relic, Coralogix, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling principles, and query optimization techniques.
- Experience implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and maintaining automated quality gates.
- Working knowledge of event-driven and streaming architectures such as Kafka.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar technologies.
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external technology resources.
- Ability to write and review detailed technical specifications for complex systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
