RINA is currently recruiting for a Northern Africa Renewables Engineering Project Manager to join its office in Tunis within the Power Project Management Division.
Mission
The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for executing and leading projects, ensuring completion of deliverables within the defined deadlines, scope, and budget. The Project Manager stands at the center of a complex set of relationships among the client, RINA, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors who deliver the elements of the project. The skill of balancing the demands and expectations of these groups lies at the heart of a successful project. The Project Manager is accountable for obtaining and managing adequate resources to meet all project objectives in the most efficient and effective manner.
Key Accountabilities
1. Project Management:
- Develop project plans outlining the scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Define project tasks and resource requirements.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
2. Client Interaction:
- Act as the primary point of contact between the consulting engineering firm and the client.
- Understand client requirements and expectations.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to clients.
3. Team Management:
- Assemble and lead a project team.
- Assign tasks to team members based on their skills and expertise.
- Motivate and manage team members to achieve project goals.
4. Budget Management:
- Develop project budgets and ensure that projects are delivered within budget constraints.
- Monitor project expenses and financial performance.
5. Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address issues that may impact project delivery.
6. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that the project meets quality standards and client expectations.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes.
7. Contract Management:
- Understand and manage contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure that the project complies with contractual obligations.
8. Communication:
- Facilitate communication between team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project meetings to discuss progress, issues, and solutions.
9. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering or technical role on renewable projects
- Experience in power plant performance definition
- Familiarity with EPC contracts, client management, and vendor relations.
- Experience in complex tender drafting and preparation (issued by IFI such as World Bank, AFD, BERD etc…)
- Understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes relevant to the sector.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under tight deadlines.
- Professional project management certifications are desirable (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or similar).
