Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Tools Engineering Manager to lead the development, deployment, and lifecycle management of engineering tools that improve productivity, quality, compliance, and delivery predictability.
This role combines technical leadership, people management, software development lifecycle expertise, process excellence, and stakeholder management.
You will lead a team of engineers developing automation, verification, analysis, and digital engineering tools, while establishing and driving the overall tools engineering strategy.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence engineering processes, introduce innovative automation solutions, build reusable capabilities, and enable engineering teams to deliver products more efficiently and effectively.

What You Will Do
- Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for automation, verification, analysis, and digital engineering tools.
- Define and execute the Tools Engineering strategy, including development, deployment, maintenance, modernization, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain engineering applications and automation solutions using Python and Java.
- Ensure engineering tools follow established SDLC, configuration management, verification, validation, and release processes.
- Apply knowledge of DO-330 to support tool qualification and compliance activities.
- Manage source code and configuration using SVN and Git.
- Use Jama for requirements management and traceability.
- Use Jira for Agile planning, issue tracking, reporting, and execution.
- Lead PREP activities, including planning, reviews, execution, and process compliance.
- Drive automation, reusable frameworks, CI/CD, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Manage priorities, schedules, risks, resources, and delivery commitments.
- Monitor productivity, quality, delivery, adoption, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Mentor engineers and build strong technical capabilities within the team.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Systems, Software, Cybersecurity, and Program Management teams.
- Support audits, assessments, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Conduct regular one-on-one discussions, performance reviews, and annual performance assessments.
- Establish clear team objectives, success measures, and development plans.
- Promote a culture based on Safety, Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation.

Qualifications You Must Have
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience in engineering tools, software, automation, digital engineering, or related technical areas.
- Proven experience leading engineering tools, software, automation, or digital engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, configuration management, and software quality processes.
- Working knowledge of DO-330 and aerospace tool qualification practices.
- Experience with SVN, Git, Jama, and Jira.
- Experience with PREP activities and engineering process compliance.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong experience managing priorities, schedules, risks, resources, and delivery commitments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering environment.
- Strong focus on quality, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment.
- Practical development experience using Python and Java.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:• Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- or a related engineering/technical discipline.
- For engineering and technical positions, a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with relevant professional experience is typically required, subject to applicable local laws and regulations.
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
