Cloud Engineer
Location: Hybrid - Hyderabad, India (3 days a week in the office)
About This Role
Hyland is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and adoption of our Internal Developer Platform (IDP). In this role, you will support the implementation of platform components, automation, and tooling that help standardize and streamline development processes across teams. You will work closely with more experienced engineers and collaborate with different workstreams to improve developer workflows and support the adoption of platform capabilities. Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Internal Developer Platform (IDP); support the implementation of platform components, automation, and internal tooling that help standardize and streamline development processes across teams.
- Assist in developing and improving CI/CD pipelines and standardized delivery workflows; contribute to service templates, golden paths, and self-service capabilities under guidance from senior team members.
- Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to help streamline engineering processes; support adoption of platform tools and practices across teams.
- Assist in integrating platform components with internal and external systems; work with containerized environments and Kubernetes-based platforms with guidance.
- Contribute to observability and reliability improvements of platform services; apply basic understanding of logging, metrics, and monitoring to support platform health.
- Follow established secure engineering practices including IAM/RBAC and secret management; contribute to continuous improvement of platform security and reliability standards.
Role Essentials
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; demonstrated experience contributing to internal platforms, DevOps initiatives, or developer tooling.
- Experience with at least one of the following languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java; basic practical experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar); experience working with containers (Docker) and basic exposure to Kubernetes environments.
- Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines; experience developing automation, internal tools, or integrations with guidance.
- Basic understanding of observability (logging, metrics, monitoring); working knowledge of secure infrastructure practices (IAM/RBAC, secret management).

What We'd Like to See (Preferred Skills)
- Experience with Internal Developer Platform (IDP) concepts including service templates, golden paths, and self-service developer workflows.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns; experience with additional cloud providers is a plus.
- Familiarity with platform engineering best practices, including developer experience (DevEx) optimization and standardization of delivery workflows.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving requirements.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn; ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and grow with guidance from senior engineers in a fast-paced environment.
