Team Overview

KONTXT engineering team, building products and systems that support billions of messages for millions of mobile devices. Working in this position, you’ll have a chance to help solve these problems while also building unique applications that allow our customers to use this data in real-time. We’re looking for the perfect candidate that enjoys working with big data, NoSQL, and distributed messaging systems.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

The Architect is an enthusiastic, engaging tech leader that will help scope, build and refine our enterprise-grade applications. The Architect will collaborate closely with our development and business teams to ensure that we construct solid platforms for our customer base. The Architect must be fluent in all enterprise-class Java technologies and be able to apply the best solutions for complex, data intensive business processes. The individual will have the opportunity to work on our various internal systems including: messaging, database, portal & APIs. Additional responsibilities and requirements listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for architecting, writing technical specifications and constructing Java EE solutions based on functional specifications for new components
  • Responsible for production, development, QA Java environment design & evolution (app server, APIs, n-tier design, etc.)
  • DevOps consultation when required
  • Review current programs and make recommendations for improvement
  • Work with other developers to ensure that software products are being built to spec and answer the specific needs of the business
  • Help shape and promote department strategy, processes, Agile/Scrum-method and QA procedures
  • Analyze and optimize application performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve speed and efficiency.
  • Day-to-day escalated application troubleshooting, creating technical specifications, non-functional specifications, and estimates based on product/business requirements.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

Qualifications:

  • 11+ years of experience with designing and developing Spring-based Java services
  • Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring Web, Spring Security, and Spring Data; Kafka, Cassandra
  • Familiarity with Spark is desirable
  • Fluency in object-oriented development, microservices architecture, and applicable Java technologies
  • Strong understanding of usability designs in user-facing applications
  • Strong Linux skills
  • Familiarity with AWS
