Full description

Who We Are

Spot & Tango is an innovative pet health & wellness brand that delivers personalized meal plans on a subscription basis. Our recipes are developed by leading animal nutritionists and are made with only real, human-grade ingredients... and nothing artificial! We have lofty goals (to make every dog in the country healthier, and every pet parent happier!) and we are looking for the right people to help us get there. This is an exciting opportunity to join a VC-backed, high-growth e-commerce startup and have an outsized impact in an extremely fast-paced environment. Plus, you get to think about dogs all day!

Who You Are

As an early member of Spot & Tango’s creative team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our brand shows up across every touchpoint. You’re a senior-level graphic designer with exceptional taste, strong fundamentals, and the confidence to take projects from “rough idea” to “nailed it.” You’re equally comfortable executing pixel-perfect layouts and stepping back to think about visual hierarchy, storytelling, and brand consistency.

You thrive in environments where expectations may be broad one day and highly specific the next, and you know how to move work forward regardless. You’re proactive, organized, and naturally fill in gaps before they’re pointed out. While your background is rooted in graphic design, you also enjoy dabbling in art direction and creative production, and you’re excited to grow in that space. You will report directly to the Creative Director and work day-to-day with a tight-knit group of creatives and marketers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop graphic design solutions across all customer touchpoints, both digital and print, including performance and brand advertising, packaging, marketing collateral, blog and social content, landing pages, digital assets, email and SMS graphics, and more
  • Work closely with a variety of stakeholders-including creative managers, other designers, product, marketing, and engineering partners
  • Create designs with purpose, thinking strategically about customer acquisition and retention (we are a subscription business) and designing with clear business goals in mind
  • Excellent understanding of color theory, typography, hierarchy, and layout
  • Contribute to evolving brand systems and workflows, including deck templates, Figma libraries, and asset organization
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while keeping files organized and accessible to the wider team

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing branding, digital, and print work that is both playful but also refined
  • Deep experience with Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Extensive experience with digital design (performance and brand ads, organic social, email, blog, landing pages, and marketing content)
  • Experience with physical design (packaging, marketing collateral, OOH)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate design decisions
  • Curious by nature, always looking to improve craft and process
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in an agile, fast-moving startup environment
  • Based in New York City Metropolitan Area or willing to relocate

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working with e-commerce or DTC brands
  • Illustration experience crafting simple doodles
  • Knowledge of video editing and animation software, like AfterEffects or Premiere
  • Pet lovers strongly encouraged, this role includes real, in-person time with dogs in office or on photoshoots (yes, it’s as good as it sounds) 🐾

This is a hybrid position based in our Midtown Manhattan office.

In-office presence is required on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Occasional attendance at photo and video shoots may also be required, depending on project needs.

Spot & Tango is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
