About the Client

Our client is a UK-based electronic money institution specializing in card acquiring services. They enable businesses to accept card payments both online and in-store. Their secure and efficient payment processing solutions include card acquiring, payouts, money remittance, and risk management services, catering to a diverse range of merchants.

Role Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with complex financial transactions and provide critical insights that drive business success. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of financial data, working within a hybrid team setting in Riga.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily transaction reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Prepare settlement statements, add corrections and adjustments in line with internal policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor discrepancies, investigate variances, and coordinate resolution with internal teams.
  • Prepare settlement, reconciliation, and financial reports for management and operational needs.
  • Collect, reconcile, and analyze financial and transactional data; maintain accurate documentation.
  • Generate and present account reconciliation reports and key financial insights.
  • Collaborate with payment processors, banks, and crypto exchanges to support smooth settlement operations.
  • Support financial forecasting and data analysis related to settlement activities.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal procedures and controls.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in settlement operations, reconciliation, finance operations, or a similar role within fintech, payments, banking, or crypto.
  • Strong understanding of transaction reconciliation, settlement flows, refunds, and adjustments.
  • Experience working with payment processors, banks, and/or crypto exchanges.
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate variances.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, analysing, and reconciling transactional data.
  • Experience working with Power BI (or similar BI tools) to build reports and dashboards.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets (Excel / Google Sheets) and financial data analysis.
  • Languages: English, Russian.
  • Experience in fintech.
