Full description

Job Title: Creative Services Quality Control Technician (On-site)

Department: Creative Services

Location: Macedon, NY – On-site

This is a fully on‑site position; remote or hybrid work is not available.

FLSA Status: Hourly

Range: $19-22 / hour

Purpose: Review artwork PDFs and digital printing plate files for accuracy against customer orders and compliance with the technical needs of the high-speed printing presses/other converting equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Proofread digital files for accuracy and record data, using a variety of software
  • Validate digital files to production-specific requirements
  • Establish and maintain proper digital file and folder structure to keep files organized according to the procedure
  • Process jobs promptly to provide the highest quality and manage customers and plant expectations
  • Prioritize jobs on schedule to meet deadlines
  • Provide feedback concerning workload and production issues or possible problems
  • Track internal and external errors/problems to assist in quality improvement efforts
  • Troubleshoot issues and discrepancies
  • Learn/maintain effective comprehension of profiling and workflow procedures
  • Develop and implement new ideas to improve workflows and procedures
  • Provide support for new acquisitions and print processes
  • Consistently meet acceptable standards of quality and quantity
  • Contribute to department and corporate goals
  • Demonstrate a teamwork attitude
  • Maintain housekeeping

Qualifications:

  • Preferred degree in • Graphic Arts, Flexo Printing Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive experience with• Mac operating systems and associated software
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to identify and analyze a problem
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to pass a Color vision test within normal limits
  • Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10–12-point type at a distance of 12-18 inches
  • Ability to pass a proofreading skills test administered at our facility
