This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of security across cloud infrastructure, applications, code, and compliance within an innovative technology environment. The position combines hands-on security engineering, vulnerability management, compliance initiatives, and secure development practices. Accountabilities: The Senior Security Engineer will be responsible for strengthening the organization's security posture across infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, and compliance frameworks. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying risks, implementing security improvements, and partnering with technical teams to build secure and reliable systems.
- Oversee security across infrastructure, applications, codebases, and cloud environments.
- Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and proactive security reviews.
- Identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities across applications, DevOps pipelines, and cloud platforms.
- Improve application and code security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Strengthen data protection controls, including encryption, access management, audit logging, and secure hosting practices.
- Lead and support compliance initiatives related to SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR requirements.
- Assist with audit preparation, security assessments, certification activities, and compliance documentation.
- Establish secure development processes and security review practices across engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and ML teams to integrate security into product development.
- Drive continuous improvements to security processes, tools, and overall security maturity.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced security professional with strong technical expertise across application security, cloud security, infrastructure protection, and compliance. This role requires hands-on experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
- 3–6 years of experience in Security Engineering or a similar cybersecurity role.
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessment activities.
- Strong understanding of application security and secure coding practices.
- Experience identifying security risks across codebases, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of AWS, GCP, and Azure security best practices.
- Experience securing Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Familiarity with security tools including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, and vulnerability management platforms.
- Experience working with Git and CI/CD systems.
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience securing AI/ML systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize security initiatives, and collaborate across teams.
